Hello Changeling 20th Backers!

RichT here:

Right now, Black Hat Matt is finishing the development work on C20 and getting the text ready for editing. At the same time, he is starting art notes and we just had our first conversation about how to handle the art for the 110 Kith options that are in the book.

Yes, you read that right. Of course, we start with the 13 "core" Kith, but then...wow.

Also, please remember to fill in your BackerKit Surveys so we know your important info. As somebody just asked me today, you can also add more stuff if you already are a backer and forgot something while the KS was running.

Hello C20 backers!

I'm going to quote last month's update info as it still stands, with one addition:

"Black Hat Matt and his crew of talented writers are still in the Second Draft phase of the writing, with some of them already having sent their finished text to Matt so he can start the Development phase where he goes through their finals, makes sure the needed changes from the Redlines phase were made, and that the text is correctly formatted for Layout. Then once all the final text is in, Matt will also adjust it so that it reads as a single book as opposed to a collection of different writing in style and tone."

The additional bit is that Matt has started to talk over what kind of art notes Mirthful Mike Chaney, our art director, needs to start hiring artists, which generally happens as the developer is finalizing the text.

After many back and forth emails, I expect to send out your BackerKit Surveys before the end of the weekend, possibly tomorrow. I'm just waiting on confirmation that we are good to go from BackerKit. It was a more complicated process since we hadn't set up the C20 Kickstarter with BK in mind, but all the links and toggles are set, now.

April Changeling 20th Update

Having the complete text will also allow us start several other Stretch Goals as those writers will have the necessary finished info to begin those next projects.

Sometime in the next two weeks, I expect you all to get a Survey from BackerKit as I am setting up our C20 BackerKit pages right now. This is a change from most of our earlier Kickstarters, but I decided to try out BackerKit with our Pugmire KS's back-end messaging and fulfillment, and the results have been impressive. For us, it is a much more flexible interface, and for our backers, you guys, BackerKit seems both easier to use, and allows additional Add-ons and upgrades to your pledges.

March C20 Update

Hello C20 backers!

Here's some updates on where various C20 projects currently stand:

First Draft (The first phase of a project that is about the work being done by writers, not dev prep)

•CtL fiction anthology (Changeling: the Lost 2nd Edition)

Second Draft

•Changeling: the Dreaming 20th Anniversary Edition

So, C20 just moved into second drafts last week. This is the stage where Black Hat Matt McFarland has made his developer notes on the writers' first drafts and they are now busy following through on whatever corrections or additional writing he might have asked for. The next phase will be the second drafts coming in to Matt, and this is when he checks the text to be sure it is what he asked for, and when he will then assemble it and format it into a coherent whole.
